LEYLAND 7 1/4 AGM REPORT!

Roving Report on the 7 ¼” Gauge AGM at Leyland 2009

As someone who has never been to a 7 ¼” Gauge Society AGM, I thought perhaps this year would be a good one to attend, as we are expecting to host the 2010 event at our railway at the Echills Wood Railway.

Ken Bull and myself were asked to provide a display of photographs for the AGM Meeting, so others could see what the EWR was all about and this we did as you will see in one of the photo’s attached to this short report.

We must say a big thank-you to all those involved at Leyland for providing all the facilities you would need – superb catering and great railway to take a trip on. We have to say that we were impressed by it all. We have now got to think about how things will be planned out at EWR for next year. Quit a few of the EWR membership went along to Leyland to gain ideas & to see how things are run for our event in 2010 and we are sure that committee meetings at EWR will now take on more idea’s !

For us as first timers to the agm it was an eye opener in many respects as we have never seen so many engines in steam but Leyland had it all under control -certainly front of house so to speak it all seemed to be running fine on the Saturday.

We have attached a few photographs that we managed to take and hope that its shows you a flavor of what its all about.

So just finally to say Well Done Leyland MES we had a great time.
